Can anybody tell me names of tumour markers that appear in blood in case of mesothelioma?And can they appear in other types of cancer?
Asbestos cancer-mesothelioma?
Hi everyone, i think i may have been exposed to asbestos, i live with my parents in an apartment im only 14 and we just painted our walls and renovated a little bit. this guy came over and he hd to use compound stuff to fix some holes or uneven spots and sanded it down, maybe even some old wall, and we didn't cover our furniture so it got on all my books, my bed , my sheets everything , Even my computer so when he was done 2 days later i wiped it with water and there is still a lot on my desk but i cant wipe it down till later....i sleep i here with this dust, is there asbestos or something that can seriously harm me its in like my sheets if i wash them and air them out will it be okay?its all over our apartment and like, we aren't done so we cant clean up yet28 minutes ago 4 days left to answer. Additional Detailsoh yes, in my walls before exposure theres a hole in my wall that goes to the other side for the cable, theres a large crumbling one that's small but very deep...there was another one like this with white chalky stuff our and everything...for Years...its gone now the small one still there asbestos there..i live in a building its old but not too old i don't know the agealso i think the building was made before the 80s, i want to find out the date though, also we have vents in the bathrooms and kitchens and are like fussy and black looking, i dont know if its dust or what , no one knows what it is, i remember we had one like this in our previous building....my dad took the caging off theres the is a little opeing to the ceiling and its black there, is there asbestos in there, i am so scared.... i dont know if my parents would get investigators, i want them to ask if there is asbestos in the building them i mean super intendant i am scared......if it is asbestos and i have been living in it for about 2 years and 4 more planning will i die ?if i have a lot of asbestos in my chest how long until i get sick..is i treatable, does everyone die?i have to sleep here for a few dys before cleaning.......is that ok

What are the chances of winning a mesothelioma lawsuit?
My father in law was recently diagnosed with mesothelioma. He is a disabled vet on a limited income. The life expectancy is only 4 18 months. He and my mother in law have filed a lawsuit against the asbestos manufacturer. The concern is that they have very little money and without compensation we are afraid that my mother in law will lose their house when he passes. Does anyone have experience with this?Thanks for answering. The lawyer says that because he has the disease that we have a good case. Mesothelioma is caused almost exclusively by asbestos exposure. We have filed the suit against the manufacturer because we believe that he was exposed while working in the boiler room while in the army and suing the army just isn't an option. The lawyer we have retained has been involved with thousands of these cases. He has given us examples of awards won by his law firm, but I want to know what the chances are of not winning.

I was having breathing problems which I thought was asthma but when I had a checkup the doctor said it was because of asbestos. I guess I got this from my former work wherein the roofing had some asbestos on it. They took it down after some years but then I was teaching for more than 8 years then. I would like to pursue a case just so I can pay my medical bills.

I work in an automotive shop as a tire technician part time to put myself through school. How much risk do I face for developing a lung disorder? I don't personally service brakes I only replace tires. This does expose me to some dust when I remove the wheel from the car or truck, although I try to avoid breathing it in. Also, are macrophages and other leukocytes unable to carry out phagocytosis on asbestos fibers?

Dear Doctor I am looking for help for my 51 yra old husband in March 2004 diagnosed with malignant pleura mesothelima.He had both epithelial and sarcoma cells.After long road for diagnosing biopsys and patol.of effiusion fluid negatives had open biopsy and was diagnosed.Went trough Alimta Cisplatin and Folic Acid treatment did not work.We foung dr Sugarbacer and try EEP surgery was atempted but ended by sawing back since cells of mesothelioma were spread in wall chest muscles.Wenton clinical trial of drug AP23573 an mTor inhibitor had 8 cycles of 75 mg.But CT scan showed progression of 3mm.Doctors not know if that chemiotherapy not work or did supressed growth of tumor.His tumor went trought wall chest because of one of the first biopsy and aditional tumor big and few small are growing on side trought ribs .He has constant pain.Taking long acting morfine 45mg and short 15 now he was given 300 mg neurontin.For the last few days have a lot of stomek pain also.Doctor ask either we want to continiue the trial or orher chemiotherapy or go on Hospis.I red about Celebrex for lung cancer and about Radiofrequency ablation to zap lung cancer.Will like to know if you know anything about that treatments or others that are promissing and where to go or how to treat the pain , Thank you fot your valuble time and voluntaring to help helpless souls
